AGM & The Shrink in the Drink

In 2023, retired psychiatrist Andrew Hill-Smith became only the third person to attempt an extraordinary feat: circumnavigating Britain’s entire coastline in a tiny 13-foot laser dinghy.

From battling fierce Scottish seas to discovering hidden harbours, Andrew’s 2,200-mile journey - solo and unsupported - reveals the raw beauty of Britain’s shores and the remarkable kindness of strangers who opened their doors to a lone sailor.

Part maritime adventure, part celebration of coastal life, this story weaves together white-knuckle sailing with chance encounters. Whether you’re a seasoned sailor or have never set foot in a boat, this is an uplifting tale of adventure, perseverance and the enduring spirit of human kindness.
